Timeline :
1824 Lesothoin was founded by the Basotho chieftain Moshoeshoe on a natural rock fortress called Mountain of the Night.
1835-1868 Lesothoacted as a buffer between the Afrikaner’s and British colonial interests and supplied seasonal farm workers to both.
1943 May 1st, bombed by German. Lost 4 members. Also, the ship was tourched and sank also in another place called Tunisian Coast. 618 Basutos lost their lives.

1963 Moshoeshoe 2 was crowned king


1980 Lesotho gained independence.


1980 April 1st the southern Africa development coordination conference was established by 9 countries including Lesotho.


1985 In south Africa 2 ANC activist and 8 others were killed in a raid of Lesotho.


1986 A project began in Lesotho to give fresh water from the mountains for electricity in South Africa. Which was sponsored by the World bank.


1990 King moshoeshoe 2 had to exile his throne. His son Letsie took over the throne.


1995 Letsie handed throne back to father.


1996 King Moshoeshoe was killed in a automobile accident.

1997

October 31st Lesie 3 was crowned king of Lesotho.


1999

Dec. 13th a American entertainer was stabbed to death out side his home due to confronting burglars out side his home in Maseru , 2 men were arrested.


2003

Sept. 13th queen mother of tiny mountain king of Lesotho died after falling over in a church out side the capital.


2004

widespread drought was spread all across Africa.


2005

Africa began to expand rapidly.


2006

Began to make a plan to fight AIDS.


2007

1 of 4 adults had AIDS in Lesotho & population was about 1.8 million


2008

in Lesotho found one of the worlds largest diamonds.
